Link Series AI Tracking/Tracking Failed
Link and Link 2 support AI Tracking. AI Tracking utilizes our advanced tracking algorithm to lock onto a person or group of people appearing in-frame. As the subject moves, the gimbal rotates and zooms according to your parameters to keep the subject in frame. You can set the position, tracking speed, and frame size through the Insta360 Link Controller.
*The AI tracking only supports facial tracking and does not support tracking other objects, animals, or human hands.
*The AI tracking distance is 3 meters.
*Link 2C does not support AI Tracking; however, it supports Auto Framing.
Link/Link 2 is equipped with advanced AI tracking technology that accurately identifies and tracks person's faces and bodies. However, if you make sudden and large movements within the frame, the camera might lose the tracking target or focus on the wrong subject.
We recommend trying the following steps to resolve the issue:
- Exit and Re-enable AI Tracking in the Link Controller Client: In the Insta360 Link Controller client, click "AI Tracking" on the bottom control bar to enable or disable AI tracking.
- Disconnect the power supply and then reconnect the Link/Link 2. After doing so, try using the AI tracking feature again.
- The AI tracking distance of Link/Link 2 is up to 3 meters, please use the AI tracking feature within the effective distance range.
How to enable Link's AI tracking?
There are three ways to enable AI Tracking:
1. A single tap on the touch button.
2. In the Link Controller, click "AI Tracking" on the bottom control bar to enable or disable it. By clicking the "^" icon to the right of "AI Tracking" you can also select "Single Tracking" or "Group Tracking" from the menu. Once selected, subsequent activations will default to your chosen mode.
3. Gesture Control — with your face in-frame, use a palm gesture (as shown below). A green light will flash to indicate successful gesture recognition, and the webcam will enter AI Tracking mode.
Note:
- By default, AI Tracking will be activated in Single Tracking mode.
- For Gesture Control, make sure the gesture does not cover your face.
Link's Auto Framing
Auto Framing can lock onto a moving character, adjusts the frame scale based on character changes, and ensures the character remains centered.
How to enable:
Method 1: In the Link Controller client, click on "Auto Framing" in the bottom control bar to activate or deactivate Auto Framing;
Method 2 (no need to download Link Controller): Through gesture control, when the face is in the frame, make a palm gesture (as shown in the picture below), the device's green light flashing indicates successful gesture recognition, allowing you to enter or exit Auto Framing mode.
